The allegations of genocide against Israel are falling apart—but the media are concealing the truth

Every single pillar of the “genocide” allegations against Israel has crumbled. Yet the institutions, scholars, and media outlets that built up this false narrative have suddenly fallen completely silent.

“The sheer number of lies that have been spread about Israel in recent years is almost impossible to keep track of,” writes Andrew Fox in a post on Substack.

In it, he breaks down the various components of the machinery that has contributed to the spread of these modern blood libels against Israel:

The medical journal *The Lancet* published speculative “studies” that fabricated claims of hundreds of thousands of alleged deaths in the Gaza Strip.

NGOs such as Amnesty International and B’Tselem reached erroneous conclusions about genocide by redefining and watering down the term itself.

South Africa, acting on behalf of Iran, undermined the Genocide Convention and the corresponding United Nations system—with the result that it is likely to become more difficult in the future to prosecute actual cases of genocide.

Now these claims are being debunked one by one. Yet the mass media remain silent on the matter.

1. The claim that “starvation is a method of warfare”

For months, the famine warnings issued by the IPC—a United Nations-backed initiative for classifying food crises—were cited as evidence that Israel was starving the Gaza Strip. It has since become clear, however, that the IPC’s methodology in 2025 was based on unconfirmed assumptions and flawed models that had never been verified on the ground in the Gaza Strip.

Figures from COGAT, a department of the Israeli Ministry of Defense, show that between October 2023 and January 2025, more than one million metric tons of food entered the Gaza Strip—significantly more than the estimated need of 825,000 metric tons. Since the spring of 2026, the amount has continued to rise.

Problems with distribution, destroyed roads, and the looting of aid convoys by terrorists do not change the fact that these enormous quantities of food directly contradict an Israeli strategy to starve the population. Even the United Nations ultimately had to admit the reality:

In July 2026, a high-ranking United Nations official officially accused armed groups with ties to the “de facto authorities”—that is, Hamas—of storming food warehouses, attacking drivers, and engaging in systematic looting. What had long been dismissed as “Israeli propaganda” was ultimately confirmed by the United Nations itself.

2. Hamas’s Misuse of Hospitals

The narrative that the Israeli army ruthlessly attacked innocent hospitals has also collapsed. Findings by U.S. intelligence agencies and statements by Hamas members themselves confirm that the terrorist organizations used Shifa Hospital as a command center, weapons depot, and hiding place for hostages.

A terrorist does not become a civilian patient simply because he is in a hospital.

3. Incorrect death tolls

The international media relentlessly repeated the claim that 70 percent of those killed in the Gaza Strip were women and children. In July 2026, however, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) published a report based on the names of the deceased as identified by the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip itself. According to that report, the proportion of women and children had dropped to 45.2 percent.

More than half of those killed were adult men—even though this group accounted for only 25 percent of the population before the war.

At the same time, the claim of widespread “killing of journalists” has also been called into question. An investigation by the Meir Amit Center into 266 individuals listed as journalists revealed that approximately 60 percent were members of terrorist organizations or had ties to them.

The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) has already had to remove several names from its lists after it was proven that the individuals in question were active fighters for Hamas or Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

Holding a camera in one hand and a weapon in the other does not make someone a member of the civilian press.

4. Academic Debacle

The academic world is not spared from Fox’s criticism either. The International Association of Genocide Scholars found Israel guilty and falsely claimed that the International Court of Justice (ICJ) had deemed genocide “plausible”—a claim that had already been rejected by the court’s former president.

Only 28 percent of the association’s members participated in the vote, and membership was open to virtually anyone. Nevertheless, the statement was treated worldwide as a verdict from the “world’s leading experts.”

Human Cost: Blood on Our Hands

This is not merely a matter of academic negligence or biased reporting. The lies had catastrophic consequences for Jews throughout the Western world:

In 2025, the United Kingdom recorded approximately 3,700 anti-Semitic incidents—the second-highest number in the country’s history.

In the U.S., more than 6,200 incidents were reported, including a record increase in physical assaults.

Added to this were violent terrorist attacks: Two employees of the Israeli Embassy were murdered in Washington, and 15 people were killed at a Hanukkah celebration in Sydney. The list goes on.

The relentless portrayal of the Jewish state as a “child murderer” gave old anti-Semitism a new vocabulary. Scholars, NGOs, and media outlets that spread the genocide allegations without waiting for evidence—or that fabricated their own “evidence”—now have blood on their hands, Fox argues.

Israel should have been cleared long ago of the accusation that it seeks to exterminate the civilian population of the Gaza Strip. Individual incidents must, of course, be investigated. But “genocide” can no longer be treated as an established fact when every single pillar on which the accusation rests has collapsed.

Now a comprehensive review should follow: errors must be corrected, false claims retracted, and the experts and editors responsible—who lent their names and credibility to this lie—held accountable. But we shouldn’t wait for that, Fox writes.

“Those who spread these blood libels will remain in their positions, hoping that no one will notice that their reputation lies in ruins.”
