US drone films looting – Hamas steals aid supplies in Gaza

TAMPA / GAZA. According to the US Central Command (CENTCOM ), a US drone captured how suspected Hamas fighters attacked an aid truck in the south of the Gaza Strip and stole the cargo. The attack occurred on October 31 in northern Khan Yunis while a humanitarian convoy was en route.

According to the US-led Civil-Military Coordination Center (CMCC), the driver was attacked and dragged to the side before the gunmen stole the vehicle and its supplies. His condition is currently unknown.

The images were taken by a US MQ-9 Reaper drone, which was supposed to monitor the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. The CMCC, to which around 40 states and international organizations belong, coordinates the distribution of humanitarian and logistical aid to the civilian population.

According to CENTCOM, more than 600 trucks carrying aid and commercial goods are currently entering Gaza every day. According to Washington, the attack deliberately undermines international aid efforts and proves once again that Hamas is misusing humanitarian aid for its own purposes.

Israel has been pointing out for years that aid supplies in Gaza are regularly confiscated or misappropriated by Hamas – for example for military infrastructure or to control the population. The current incident provides further evidence of this practice.
