US President Trump’s 20-point peace plan

A new peace plan is intended to pave the way for an end to the Gaza war. The detailed 20-point proposal envisages not only an immediate ceasefire, but also long-term demilitarization, reconstruction and a new political order in the Gaza Strip. The plan is supported internationally – including by the USA, several Arab countries and European partners.

The 20 points are reproduced here in their exact wording and content:

  1. Gaza will be a deradicalized, terror-free zone that poses no threat to its neighbors.
  2. Gaza is being rebuilt for the benefit of the people of Gaza, who have suffered more than enough.
  3. If both sides agree to this proposal, the war will end immediately. Israeli forces will withdraw to the agreed line to prepare for a hostage rescue. During this time, all military operations – including aerial and artillery bombardment – will be suspended. The battle lines will remain frozen until the conditions for the full phased withdrawal are met.
  4. All hostages, alive or dead, will be returned within 72 hours, with full forensic examination, in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross.
  5. All Palestinian prisoners who have been arrested in Gaza since the beginning of the war will be released.
  6. Israel will release 250 Palestinians who are currently serving life sentences.
  7. A technocratic, apolitical Palestinian committee will temporarily govern the Gaza Strip under international supervision.
  8. A “Board of Peace” chaired by President Trump will lead the recovery and reconstruction efforts.
  9. Hamas and other factions that reject this plan will be excluded from the government.
  10. Hamas members who commit to disarmament and peaceful coexistence are offered amnesty and safe passage abroad.
  11. An international stabilization force (consisting of the US, Arab and European countries) will provide security assistance and monitor border controls, working with a vetted Palestinian police force.
  12. No one will be forced to leave Gaza; those who choose to leave will be allowed to return.
  13. Reconstruction includes the rehabilitation of infrastructure, new housing, water, electricity and roads, which are being carried out within the framework of public-private partnerships and under the supervision of international donors.
  14. A special economic zone is set up in which preferential tariffs and access tariffs are negotiated with the participating countries.
  15. A path to Palestinian self-determination and more comprehensive reforms in the Palestinian Authority will be facilitated by renewed negotiations under the leadership of the USA.
  16. The transition also includes oversight by international bodies (UN, Red Crescent, etc.) to ensure fair access for humanitarian aid.
  17. Israel reserves the right to defend itself if one party violates the conditions – in particular in the event of armament or attacks from the Gaza Strip.
  18. Arab and Muslim states pledge to support the demilitarization of the Gaza Strip.
  19. The funds for reconstruction and rehabilitation are being provided by international donors, the Gulf states and private sector investment.
  20. If the parties reach an agreement, this proposal will enter into force immediately. Procedures for monitoring compliance are introduced.

Israel has now accepted the peace plan.
